Site Designer crashes when exporting

The symptom. Exporting project files crashes the app. Not every time: the user who reported it puts it at roughly one export in five, on a MacBook.

What is known

  • It is intermittent, not reproducible on demand.
  • It was reported on macOS, on the versions current at the time of the thread.
  • The reporter contacted CoffeeCup support about it, so it is on their radar rather than settled.

What to do

  1. Save first. Every time, before exporting.
  2. Keep a copy of the project file before a big export, so you have a known-good snapshot. See the file format reference for what a .rsd actually holds.
  3. Report it with your macOS version, the app build from Help → About, and whether the project is large. Intermittent bugs are fixed on the strength of the reports that arrive.
