Site Designer slows down during long sessions

The symptom. After roughly an hour of continuous editing the app becomes slow enough that the only practical fix is to quit and reopen it. Reported on Windows 10 and 11, on version 5.0 build 3536.

What helps today

Restart the app. It is the workaround the reporter uses, and it restores normal speed.

Beyond that, the discussion points at project size rather than at any single setting. The factors raised by other users when diagnosing it:

• How many pages the project has
• How many components have been added to those pages
• RAM available, and what else is running

The user with the worst symptoms describes slowdowns that get severe on larger projects.

Worth knowing
